Photography
Photography is more than a snapshot put onto paper. It allows self-expression, preserve the moment and relive memories, tell a story, or show your talent for capturing remote and mysterious themes. It should also be used to show the finer side of this world so more people can, and will, enjoy living in it!
Photography is also the display of creativity captured through a lense. Thus, it should be framed, just right, and presented for everyone to enjoy.
Photo taken at full auto and 10.5 mp. I would have preferred blurred foreground and a crisper building. But eh, it didn’t turn out all that bad…. Oh, it is the mill in Great Smoky Mountain National Park (and not for sale).
Congratulations! You have discovered the good to best deal box!! It may not be the best deal on the web, but it’s better than a kick to the shins! There are no current deals, maybe next month!
“Some days I astonish myself. Other days, I mumble and curse as I look for my phone while holding it.”
Waaaay back in high school I took a photography class. I really enjoyed photography. The problem was not being able pay for supplies (high school jobs don’t pay crap), so I flunked my favorite class simply because I couldn’t afford the material to develop my works… So sad… Fast forward two decades. Taking pictures with a Pentax K1000 full manual camera was great. I really miss that camera (sigh and stare longingly into the distance). Unfortunately, someone else thought they could pawn it for some free money (and they probably did). Sunday evening, when I came home and saw the door open (I lived alone), I had a sinking feeling of what may have disappeared. Several items were taken, including a crisp 1964 $100 bill (a rare find even 20 years ago), my cameras, and accessories. Deeply saddened and too broke to buy another good camera, I receded from taking really good pictures. For a long time after that I only used my phone, and a “insta” shot camera. Not meant to take much more than near average quality pictures.
Now 15 years later I finally broke down and purchased another good camera and still learning how to use it. Remember, from film and full manual control to a digital camera that wants to take ho-hum photos for you. That first step into a new world is a BIG learning curve (I’m just old school and prefer the “feel” of full manual control). It has been a little over a year using a digital camera, its various settings are not as overwhelming as they once were (I have more settings to learn that need perfected). I also got lucky and found a non-auto focus lense! Awesome, yeah for me!
With that being stated, I will continue to re-improve my photographic skills. Over the next several months, there will be new photos posted for your enjoyment, and even some for sale! Most pictures will be online digital, 8x10, and 16x20. You can even have it framed beautifully with one that is handmade from Rusty Blades Woodshop!

Fresh Perspective
Please don’t judge my abilities as a photographer, yet!
The photos below are general examples, not quality. I’m still in the process of finding and shooting better photos. (Working full time and running a business leaves little time for the fun stuff!)
Please enjoy these snapshots and come back around late summer 2025 (life has a way of slapping you around) to check on my progress and maybe even find a print that you would like framed (by Rusty Blades of course)!!
