EV’s - OMG, WTF. SUV’s DOA
I just read it, WTF ya’ll. It would be sooo great to get rid of ALL gasoline engines! Or somehow reduce tailpipe emissions (even though they have NO Plan as to how). Let’s Go Brandon! Seriously, do they not understand that saying we will go to zero emissions, is in fact a straight up LIE! There has never been, nor will be, a zero emission mode of transportation, EVER, in the history or future of this planet, whatsoever! How can I be so sure? Question… Ever fart while you were walking? Boom, Point served. Here are the real points in question. Electric Vehicles: Are they manufactured? Do they need charged? Can they magically transport themselves to a show room or sales lot? Are they maintenance free? Will they NEVER require cleaning? Do they add more to the environment than they take away? Are they 100% recyclable? Shall I keep going? Just in case you missed the point, the answer is, 2 yes and the rest NO! They use more resources to produce than a gas powered auto! Not only that, I’ll bet that the majority of electricity powering them was produced using some form of “from the ground resource”! GASP! (There are some coal, natural gas, and nuclear plants left, but I’ll come back for a glowing review on nuclear power sometime later). As for now, let’s focus on EV!
All autos are manufactured, true… EV’s need charged, gas powered needs…. well, gas. Even if using solar panels, they were manufactured and leave a major carbon footprint during manufacturing as well, and need accessories to function properly. 0 for 0. All autos need to be transported to a dealership. All autos must be maintained (compare apples to oranges. BUT they will all need fixed) 0 for 0 again. Unless you prefer a dirty, stinky auto. You must clean your ride! EV batteries have mined metals which leave huge craters deep in the earth. Cool thing is that it’s in another country, so you can feel better that it doesn’t affect the environment! And the plastic that is manufactured using ALOT of petroleum requiring much more effort and resources to produce AND recycle compared to gas powered. Take a gasser to the scrap yard, sell it, and it turns into next years model!) 0 for 0 a third time! If you really want to compare the two types of auto’s, you really can’t. Research shows that EV’s are more environmentally friendly than gas, cool. Find the study showing that if the EV got 400 miles per charge and was able to be charged in half the time (more expensive materials), you might find that a gas ride is still more sustainable than the EV. BUT, who am I to say.
What I do know is that a naturally occurring gas, known as hydrogen, is as close to 100% renewable resource that anyone can get, next to methane (not the cow farts again, UGG!). Problem is that most research on the topic has been removed from the internet. Even though, in theory (I’m no scientist), it is safer than gasoline, propane, battery explosions and diesel. How, might you ask? It is the lightest element we know of (even beats Helium!) And as such, upon detonation, the majority of the explosion goes up, not out, and when combined with oxygen (when it ignites) turns into water….. And therefore, it does not remain close to the ground where you will likely be found at the scene of an accident! There are better alternatives out there. Choose wisely for whom you support in the next step to save humanity! Or kill us off. The choice is yours to make! As for me, I’ll drive my honkin’ big, pre 2000 truck that gets a mere 14 mpg. The "new and improved model” gets an embarrassingly low 6 mpg more. For whatever reason, it should boast 45 mpg easily (with infinite technology and all). Before I contemplate a purchase of that magnitude, for something that only lasts as long as the payment book (For those who don’t know, that’s what the bank used to give you as a payment reminder instead of an insecure password) I’ll stick with the tried and true as long as I can (since it is paid off). By saving $575 a month (or more) on an auto payment, I can afford groceries, home maintenance, and fuel for my “gas hog” of a truck! How does “Love that shiny new car smell” sound Now?!
